P.S. A few personal and philosophical thoughts from Be on Style ♥️

There are moments in every profession that shift your perspective a little. I had one of those too.

A father came in with his daughter right before her first year of school. Of course, I imagined the usual: trim the ends, talk about caring for long hair…

But their request was completely different: shave one side and do a short, textured pixie cut.

Honestly, at first I thought they were joking.

Then came the pause, a bit of shock, and my attempts to talk them out of it:

“It won’t grow back by the end of summer,”

“It will be hard for her to style,”

“She’s still just a child…”

And then the father calmly said:

— It’s her choice. Her experience in making decisions. If she can’t manage it, we’ll adjust.

And at that moment, something shifted in me.

In the end, we did it — slightly adapted for her age, but we kept the idea.

And you know… that’s when I started thinking:

how often we, as adults, impose our ideas of what is “beautiful” and “right” on children.

Long hair “because it should be.”

No bangs “because it won’t suit you.”

No changes “because it’s too early.”

But sometimes it’s better to give a child a little freedom —

to try, to make mistakes, to make their own choices.

Because it’s not just about a haircut.

It’s about experience.
